About us
919 is the heart of Sandton
Johannesburg is the New York City of Africa, and Sandton is its Manhattan.
- Sandton hosts the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), financial institutions, banks, and insurers
- Most South African business giants have their head office in Sandton; multinational companies have their regional headquarters based here too.
- 919’s studio is based at 35 Ferguson Road, Illovo, in the heart of Sandton.
Our transmitter is located in Bryanston, and our footprint extends from Soweto, across the northern suburbs of Johannesburg, to OR Tambo.
We focus on a can-do, upbeat mindset, and the power of music to make listeners feel good.
There’s a very special energy and attitude here, and that’s what the South African music we playlist encapsulates every single day. It is this mix of creative magic and business nous that we love about Sandton: if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
We are ambitious, we are resilient, we are joyful and we work very hard to get to where we want to be. Our vision is to bring that spirit to life in 2024 and beyond.
Feel good. Feel 919.
Let’s do this.
