How did you get into radio?
I’ve been in the music industry for 26 years and my love for South African music got me into radio
What do you love about working with 919?
I love that we aren’t playlisted and that I can shine as much light as I want on local artists and the live music scene. It’s so important to play as much South African as possible and across as many genres as possible too. We are the little boat that rocked and hopefully we become that ship that rocked. Let’s rock!
If we say Joburg, what comes to mind?
Joburg is electric, it’s hopeful, it’s a little crazy and the people are the sunshine that keep it all together.
Where are you based, and what’s the route you travel to get to the station?
I’m based on the other side of the planet near O R TAMBO and I travel different routes every time depending on what my boss inside my phone tells me to do
What do you get up to when you’re not doing your show / working at 919?
I am a promoter, dj, mc and festival owner. I pretty much music all the time but when I’m not doing that I like to adventure, eat yummy food and spoil friends and family in any and all the ways I possibly can. So caustically gigging and funning always.
Who are your favourite artists and genres?
I really do like all the music! I really love the 50s & 60s and I love indie, alternative, punk and rock the mostest.
