Nal’ibali is celebrating Literacy Month and Heritage Month under the theme, “My Literacy, My Language, My Heritage.”
The literacy organisation will bring reading, storytelling, language and cultural activities to children, families and communities across seven provinces.
The initiative aims to promote literacy while celebrating South Africa’s diverse languages, cultures and heritage.
Nal’ibali is calling on organisations, communities and partners to support the campaign through collaboration, helping to amplify literacy initiatives across the country.

South Africa’s Romanda Hombir has won the Miss World Africa 2026 title after reaching the Top Six at the Miss World finale in Vietnam.
The 27-year-old clinical audiologist from Mpumalanga advanced through the competition’s challenge events and represented the Caring Purpose Foundation through her social-impact work.
Hombir was the highest-placed African contestant among 111 competitors at the finale.

Hundreds of deaf and hearing people walked in silence through Cape Town to raise awareness about the experiences of deaf people.
The 12th annual DeafSA Silent Walk took participants on a five-kilometre route from Newlands to Rondebosch and back on Saturday.
Hearing participants wore earplugs during the walk to experience communication without sound.
The event launched National Deaf Awareness Month and highlighted the need for greater inclusion and access for deaf people.
