Recycled Tennis Balls Create Playground for Ravensmead Children
Story 2
Children at Sunset Educare in Ravensmead, Western Cape, have received their first playground, made entirely from recycled padel and tennis balls.
The initiative, led by Amazeballs, turns discarded balls into durable play structures, reducing waste while providing safe spaces for children to climb, balance, and slide.
The playground was funded through the Amazeballs x Racket & Ball Mandela Day tournament, raising R21,000 for the project.
The centre caters to more than 120 children, many of whom had never experienced proper play equipment.
This is the first of several playgrounds planned through a new partnership between Amazeballs and Grow ECD, supporting early childhood development centres across four provinces
