Lipschitz Wins Slovakia Marathon in Personal Best

South African marathon runner Adam Lipschitz has won the International Peace Marathon in Slovakia, in 2-hours, 7-minutes and 21-seconds, setting a personal best.
He finished 32 seconds ahead of Kenya’s Abednego Cherooyot Cheruiyot, with defending champion Moses Kip-nge-tich Kemei third.
Lipschitz improved his previous personal best with the victory.
He says the victory fulfils a goal he set for himself 6-months ago.

Sony Launches African Photography Awards

Sony has launched the Africa in Frame Photo Awards, giving emerging photographers across the continent a chance to put African stories in the spotlight.
The competition invites entries capturing everything from wildlife and landscapes to fashion, sport and cultural celebrations, with submissions closing on 31 December 2026.
Three winners will each receive a camera and a professional lens, ------and the results expected in February 2027.

Daniel Grove Retains African Laser Run Crown

South African athlete Daniel Grove has added another continental title to his name, winning gold for the second consecutive time at the African Laser Run Championships in Cape Town.
The 17-year-old from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus overcame strong winds that made the shooting stages challenging, relying on his running to make up lost time.
He will now turn his attention to his school examinations before returning to competition.
