Hundreds of runners took part in the Stronger Fun Run at Mushroom Park in Sandton, combining fitness with a focus on men’s mental health.
The event featured 5 kilometre and 8 kilometre routes, with men and women running together in support of encouraging men to speak openly about their emotional wellbeing.
Founded by running and mental health therapist Busi Mzandolo, the event encourages men to seek help when they are struggling and reminds them they do not have to face challenges alone.

Cape Town Live Art Festival Brings Free Performances To Public Spaces

The University of Cape Town’s Institute for Creative Arts will host its eighth Live Art Festival from 14 to 18 October, bringing dance, theatre, music and visual art to public spaces across Cape Town.
Around 30 performances and installations will take place at venues including the Company’s Garden, St George’s Mall and the Castle, with a Sunday programme in Langa.
The festival will also feature an international exchange with Sweden, bringing Swedish artist Mauritz Tistelo to Cape Town while South African dancer Lorin Sookool takes up a placement in Sweden.
All performances are free and open to the public.

The University of Pretoria’s Mamelodi Campus is using its computer laboratories to help local residents develop digital skills and improve their employment prospects.
The free courses teach basic computer literacy, Microsoft Word and Excel, professional email communication and online job seeking. More specialised workshops cover LinkedIn and Canva, helping job seekers and small business owners strengthen their digital presence.
The training is presented weekly by volunteer lecturers, students and alumni, while residents can also use the computer labs to prepare CVs and search for jobs.
