Motorists reminded to renew vehicle license discs

As the festive season approaches, the Road Traffic Management Corporation is reminding motorists to renew their vehicle licence discs before finalising their travel arrangements.
Over 3-million licences expiring between October and December.
The RTMC is sending reminders to registered motorists and encourages others to use their online platform to renew.
Clients from major banking institutions such as Capitec, FNB and Nedbank can access the platform through their banking apps.

Cape Town is set to welcome international delegates for the third and final G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group Technical and Ministerial Meetings, taking place from 13-17 October.
The meetings, hosted by Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Dr Dion George, will bring together representatives from G20 member states, guest countries, international organisations, and research institutions.

The Higher Education and Training Department has partnered with Microsoft South Africa to strengthen digital and AI skills among students.
The Microsoft Memorandum of Understanding aims to address the digital skills gap and ensure that students are equipped with in-demand skills.
The programme includes an AI Engineer pathway in TVET colleges, AI in Leadership training for principals and officials, and broader digital upskilling through the Digital Literacy and AI Skills Navigator initiatives.
The 3-year partnership is expected to improve employability, foster innovation, and help reduce youth unemployment across South Africa.

The Confederation of African Football has reported a profit for the first time in several years.
The federation made a profit of 9.48-million-US-dollars in the 2023–2024 financial year.
CAF generated a revenue of 166.42million-US-dollars driven by increased commercial partnerships, a growing sponsor base, and stricter financial controls.
