The City of Johannesburg's Region A Sport and Recreation aerobics programme made a vibrant stop at Busy Corner Imbizo Shisanyama last week.

An estimated 80 participants turned out for the high-energy session, reflecting growing community engagement for the long-running initiative.

The programme, which has been active for eight years, continues to attract residents from Ebony Park and neighbouring areas, including parts of Ekurhuleni, adding to the lively atmosphere.

Assistant director for sport and recreation in Region A, Mandla Mahlangu, praised the turnout and community commitment.

Mahlangu said that the presence of participants from nearby Tembisa continues to boost the programme’s impact.

A Grade 10 learner from Northwood School in Durban was selected to represent South Africa as part of the National Fencing Squad at the Junior Africa Championships in Senegal.

16 year old Christian Johnston, competed in the U20 age group placing 18 out of 25 in his first international event.

Brixton reservoir to improve water reliability
