Untapped AI has launched new artificial intelligence systems trained to understand South African languages and accents, helping businesses communicate more effectively with local customers. The platform has been developed using regional speech patterns and is being rolled out to companies looking for alternatives to overseas AI tools. These tools often struggle with local language use. Founder Lloyd Mathew says the goal is to improve customer response rates by making digital interactions more relatable and accurate.

Delta Park Environmental Centre in Johannesburg has just launched its very own theatre.
The Whirlwind is a new theatre offering proper seating, a stage, and a growing lineup of shows, offering a unique cultural experience in the heart of one of the city’s most loved parks.The theatre was brought to life by Tabitha Hoy and Bridget van Oerle, two experienced figures in entertainment and community engagement. After the performance industry was hit hard during lockdown, the pair set out to create a welcoming space where local artists could perform and audiences could reconnect with live entertainment.

Alyssa Reyersbach, who won a national design competition at age 10, has seen her artwork come to life on the tail of LIFT’s Airbus A320. Now a graphic designer, Reyersbach’s bold design was chosen from thousands of submissions in celebration of the airline’s fifth birthday. Just three weeks ahead of the competition deadline, Reyersbach decided to enter after repeatedly seeing the competition advertised on her Instagram feed. LIFT Brand Manager Haydn Halim-Henning said the artwork celebrates the company’s unity and diversity, telling a visual story of a country alive with creativity, culture, and ‘lekker’ vibes—a true reflection of South Africa.
