More than 21,500 shelter dogs across South Africa will receive tick and flea treatment through a R7 million donation to animal shelters.
The treatments have been distributed nationwide as part of a winter animal welfare campaign.
The donation will help improve the health of vulnerable dogs and reduce the spread of parasites in shelters.
Animal welfare organisations say the treatment will improve the dogs' wellbeing and increase their chances of finding permanent homes.

Mall of the South is inviting businesses to support #HOLLER 2026, a fundraising gala focused on preventing gender-based violence and building safer communities.
The event will take place at Thaba Eco Hotel in Johannesburg on 20 August and will bring together business leaders, community organisations and experts to discuss practical ways to prevent violence.
Funds raised through table sales will support education, advocacy and community programmes aimed at reducing gender-based violence.
Mall of the South centre manager Hester Smith says preventing violence requires more people, especially men, to become part of the solution.

Thirty-eight differently abled farmers in Qwa-Qwa are now able to grow vegetables more easily after receiving accessible raised garden beds.
The African Conservation Trust built the gardens with wider spaces and raised platforms to support wheelchair and crutch users.
The project will help members of the Nurturing Seeds community group grow food for their families and earn an income from selling produce.
The organisation says the gardens are designed to make farming more accessible and inclusive.
