Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero has officially launched the Johannesburg Bomb Squad operational since June this year.
The specialized unit is a specially selected task force of top-tier leaders and advisors whose sole mission is to revitalize Johannesburg, fix service delivery breakdowns and accelerate progress across all communities.
This move follows the promise made by the Mayor during his State of the City Address in May where he committed to disrupting dysfunction, cutting through red tape, and reimagining a city that truly works for its people.
Morero says the work of the bomb squad will be informed by adopting a precinct approach throughout the city:
