Rugby stars from Alex get scholarships to private schools

Six young rugby players from Alexandra earned scholarships to private schools after impressing scouts during inter-provincial and club matches.
Thabang Rallele joined St David’s Marist, Inanda, while Absalao Mutema Chauke enrolled at Parktown Boys High School, building on skills developed at Alex Wolves.
The scholarships recognize their rugby talent and provide access to improved academic and sporting opportunities.
Coach Sarah Skhosana says the programme changes lives, giving township players exposure to better facilities and helping them excel both on the field and in the classroom.

Computer lab opens at Hillwood Primary

Hillwood Primary School in Lavender Hill, Cape Town has opened a new computer lab, funded by over R200,000 in donations in memory of the late Murray Carlyle.
The lab, equipped with 36 computers, interactive whiteboards, and staff support, triples access to technology for pupils.
Students now have their own workspaces, giving them new opportunities to learn digital skills.
Teachers say the lab will help learners gain confidence and prepare for the digital world.
