South Africa’s Caregiver Learning Through Play programme
Story 3
South Africa’s Caregiver Learning Through Play programme is transforming early childhood learning in marginalised communities.
Now in its second phase, the initiative equips caregivers with tools to stimulate children’s development through play and nutrition.
Experts say that children learn best when playing — even everyday activities, like cooking with a tomato, can become fun lessons in colours and cognition.
By supporting caregivers as children’s first teachers, the programme is helping young minds grow, learn, and thrive in their crucial early years.
