Johannesburg Zoo hosts annual Mother’s Day concert in May

Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo will host its annual Mother’s Day Concert on Sunday, 10 May at the Johannesburg Zoo.
The day features live performances by local artists, guided heritage and Big 5 tours, kids’ play areas, food and craft stalls, and a hospitality programme for senior citizens.
Visitors can enjoy music, nature, and interactive learning in a safe, family-friendly setting.
Tickets cost R150 for adults and R80 for children and seniors, and are available online or at the gate.

13-year-old raises R103,000 in 700km rally

Thirteen-year-old Sophie-Mae Hein from Johannesburg completed the 700-kilometre Muddy Face Botswana rally, raising over R103,000 for Team Zonke.
Despite limited driving experience, she navigated rough terrain and long stages, even managing a damaged tyre to reach the finish line.
Her fundraising will provide equipment and training for children in alternative care, helping them build confidence and a sense of belonging.

Shelly Beach Hospital doctors are celebrating a great success after performing South Coast's first brain tumour removal through the nose.
The surgery was perfomed without any external inesion allowing doctors to access the brain tumour without having to open the skull.
Led by Neurosurgeon Dr Yandisa Nxakama who also credits his collegaues for the successful results:
