Entrepreneurs in Mabopane were given a platform to showcase and sell their products at the area’s first Open Market Day on Saturday.
Twelve local vendors took part, selling food, fashion, beauty products, cosmetics, and arts and crafts.
The event also connected them with business-support organisations and opportunities to build their skills and networks.
Organisers plan to hold more market days to help local entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

JOMBA! Contemporary Dance Experience is heading to Johannesburg following its season in Durban.
The Centre for Creative Arts will present a four-night season at The Market Theatre, featuring contemporary dance from South Africa, Africa and Europe.
The festival is in its fourth year of partnership with The Market Theatre.
Assistant Curator, Thobile Maphanga says the Johannesburg programme will give audiences an opportunity to see local and international contemporary dance performances:
