600km Walk for Children with Disabilities

A 600-kilometre walk from Johannesburg to Durban is underway to raise funds and awareness for children living with disabilities.
Vusumuzi Mbambani and Molelekwa Mahoko started the MegaWalk on 1 September and are due to finish on 1 October.
The pair are using the challenge to support children with disabilities and promote greater inclusion in communities.
Mahoko who is one of the founders of the initiative has this to say:

Fifty South African women entrepreneurs and government leaders have completed a three-day programme focused on using artificial intelligence and other digital tools in their work.
Huawei South Africa’s Women in Tech programme provided practical training in AI, cloud computing and 5G-Advanced, among other technologies.
Participants explored ways to use AI to improve productivity, analyse data and handle routine business tasks.
The programme aims to help more women build digital skills and take part in the growing digital economy.

Poetry Africa Brings 40 Slam Poets to Durban

Poetry Africa will bring 40 slam poets from 40 countries to Durban from October 5 to 10 for its 30th edition.
The festival will also host the fifth World Slam Poetry Championships, with poets competing, alongside slam events for South African performers and high school learners.
Poetry Africa, organised by the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s Centre for Creative Arts, will take place at the Durban Playhouse Theatre, and tickets now available.
