A coding initiative designed to work without computer labs has reached more than 50,000 learners across 10 African countries.
Tangible’s Coding 4 Africa programme involved 513 schools and organisations, with more than 200,000 engagements recorded between July and August.
The initiative uses teacher led activities and coding games to teach learners problem solving, sequencing and computational thinking using resources already available in schools.
The programme is based on South Africa’s Coding and Robotics curriculum for learners from Grade R to Grade 9.
