NAMSA reports record-breaking passenger car sales

The Automotive business council NAMSA says passenger car sales reached more than 39-thousand units last month, marking the highest figure in 11 years.

The council released its monthly sales update earlier this week.
The new passenger car market recorded an increase of five thousand one hundred and seven units, compared to October last year.

NAMSA revealed that several factors contributed to the increase including a firmer rand, stable fuel costs and easing inflation.

Sanlam launches R1.4 Billion fund to boost Social Infrastructure

Sanlam Investments has raised R1.4 billion, which has been channelled into a Property Impact Fund. The aim of the Fund is to invest in essential social infrastructure such as affordable housing, student accommodation, township retail projects, as well as education and healthcare facilities.

The Fund is focused on supporting South Africa’s missing middle individuals and communities who actively contribute to the economy but often do not have access to quality housing, education and healthcare.

Sanlam Investments says the initiative aims to bridge the critical gap in the market, while achieving returns on its social impactful investment.

World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards celebrate industry changemakers

Changemakers in sustainable tourism were celebrated this week at the 2nd annual World Sustainable Travel & Hospitality Awards, which were held at the Terra Expo City in Dubai.

The event honoured 30 organisations and individuals who are leading the shift towards a net positive tourism industry.

This year’s winners showcased how sustainability has become central to the global travel and hospitality agenda.

The programme which is run in partnership with the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, connects a network of 66,000 hotels, eight million rooms and more than 300 global partners.
