Vega Students Head to L’Oréal in Paris

Three IIE-Vega Bordeaux third-year students will represent South Africa at the L’Oréal Brandstorm finals in Paris this June. They won the national competition held at L’Oréal’s Johannesburg office, beating over 200 other teams. The competition challenges participants to create ideas for L’Oréal’s business divisions, with this year focusing on men’s beauty and care. IIE-Vega selected top students from different courses to form teams and tackle the challenge. Their solution, which was innovative and sustainable, was presented through a three-slide presentation and a three-minute pitch video.

The 9Miles Project held its first 100Wave Challenge at Strandfontein Beach in Cape town this past weekend, with surfers aiming to catch 100 waves in one day to raise money for vulnerable youth. The event saw a mix of beginners and experienced surfers, all supported by local coaches. Highlights included Gabriel, the youngest solo surfer, who completed all 100 waves, and Faieq, who raised the most funds. The day also featured beach activities and a clean-up, raising over R100,000 for the 9Miles Project. The event was a huge success, with plans for another in 2026.

A study conducted by Casino Reviews found that in the last month there were 82,590 Google searches for "Beyoncé tour accommodation." This interest is having an impact, causing hotel prices to skyrocket by up to 178% for cities in the US along Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter and Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour. According to research fans can expect to pay up to 221 dollars more for every mile closer a hotel is to the respective tour venues.SOUND
