Untapped AI has launched new artificial intelligence systems trained to understand South African languages and accents, helping businesses communicate more effectively with local customers. The platform has been developed using regional speech patterns and is being rolled out to companies looking for alternatives to overseas AI tools. These tools often struggle with local language use. Founder Lloyd Mathew says the goal is to improve customer response rates by making digital interactions more relatable and accurate.

South African businessman Dr Danny Tong, founder of the InvesTong Group, has been confirmed as a speaker at the upcoming TEDxSandton. His talk, titled *“Mastering the New World We Live In,”* will focus on how leaders and institutions need to adapt to a rapidly changing global environment shaped by technology, evolving capital markets and growing social and economic pressures.Tong said that Technology, markets and society are shifting at great speed, and leaders cannot afford to stand still. His message is about adapting, thinking differently and building institutions that can respond to uncertainty.

The Cape Town International Airport will undergo a R10 billion infrastructure upgrade to expand capacity, improve operational efficiency, and support tourism and trade in the Western Cape.The upgrade programme includes the construction of a new main runway, valued at an estimated R6.39-billion to optimise air traffic operations while creating additional capacity for terminal expansion.The 3,500-metre runway will be equipped with rapid-exit and partial parallel taxiways to reduce turnaround times and improve scheduling flexibility.The phased upgrades form part of the Airports Company South Africa’s wider R21.7bn investment across its airport network.
