South Africa brings home gold flower display

South Africa’s gold-winning Chelsea Flower Show display is coming home.
Leon Kluge and his team will recreate their award-winning Life After Fire exhibit in Stanford in the Western Cape from 12 to 27 September.
The display won gold and Best Exhibit in the Great Pavilion at the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show in London.
Ticket sales will support the Grootbos Foundation’s conservation, education, and community programmes.

UP radiography students support Tshwane orphanage

Radiography students from the University of Pretoria are making a difference beyond the classroom through a Bags of Hope outreach project at a Tshwane orphanage for abandoned babies.
The students and lecturers delivered personalised gifts, spent time caring for the infants, and learned more about the challenges faced by vulnerable children.
They also gained insight into the health effects of substance exposure during pregnancy.
The initiative combines hands-on learning with community support, helping to shape compassionate future healthcare professionals.

Cancer survivors join national women’s race

Hope and resilience will take centre stage in August as cancer survivors from across South Africa take part in the Totalsports Women’s Race in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
The event partners with PinkDrive to raise awareness about cancer and promote early detection through education and screening programmes.
Many participants are women who have overcome cancer and use physical activity as part of their recovery journey.
