African ReUnion Exhibition Celebrates Pan African Unity in Pretoria

The University of South Africa Art Gallery in Pretoria is hosting the African ReUnion exhibition, a showcase of art and scholarship celebrating Pan African creativity, memory and future focused thinking.
The exhibition is inspired by the 1963 founding of the Organisation of African Unity, now the African Union, and brings together works that explore identity, connection and the continent’s shared history. It highlights how art can reflect both Africa’s past and its evolving future.
The exhibition is open to the public at the UNISA Art Gallery and runs until the first of July.

Western Cape social enterprise I Love Coffee is celebrating its 10th anniversary, alongside a milestone of more than 500,000 working hours created for Deaf employees since launching in 2016.
What began as a single inclusive coffee shop has grown into an award-winning business with cafés, a roastery, and training programmes in South Africa and abroad.
The organisation currently employs and trains around 60 Deaf staff members, while reinvesting profits into job creation initiatives and expanding opportunities through international partnerships, including in the United Kingdom.

Discovery Pothole Patrol Repairs Over 343,000 Potholes in Johannesburg

A Johannesburg road safety initiative has repaired more than 343,000 potholes over the past five years, helping improve road conditions across the city.
The Discovery Pothole Patrol programme, launched in 2021 in partnership with the City of Johannesburg and the Johannesburg Roads Agency, uses dedicated repair teams working daily across the metro.
The initiative has also been supported by thousands of residents who report road damage through a mobile app, helping teams target problem areas more quickly.
Officials say the project has contributed to safer and more reliable roads while encouraging collaboration between the public and private sector in maintaining infrastructure.
