Gauteng Introduces New HIV Prevention Injection

The Gauteng Health Department is rolling out a new HIV prevention injection, Lenacapavir, across 133 health facilities from Monday as part of efforts to strengthen HIV prevention services.
The province has been chosen as a key site due to its large population and higher HIV risk, with the first phase focusing on young people and other vulnerable groups, including pregnant and breastfeeding women.

A special needs school in Mpumalanga is set to benefit from a R4 million ICT investment aimed at improving digital learning access for learners with disabilities.
The Silindokuhle Special Needs School in e-Mangweni has received upgraded computer labs, assistive technology, improved connectivity and specialised learning tools as part of a partnership between Vodacom Foundation and the Mpumalanga Department of Education.
The project is designed to support learners with physical, hearing, visual and intellectual disabilities.
The initiative also includes devices such as Braille printers, talking calculators and portable readers, alongside teacher training and ongoing technical support to strengthen inclusive education.

The Gautrain is marking 16 years of operations, reflecting on its impact on public transport in Gauteng since launching in 2010.
The rapid rail service has now carried more than 200 million passengers, linking Johannesburg, Pretoria and OR Tambo International Airport, and easing daily travel for commuters across the province.
To celebrate the milestone, passengers are being treated to engagement activities and commemorative moments at selected stations, including Centurion and Park Station.
