More than 300 elderly SASSA beneficiaries were treated to a warm breakfast at Diepkloof Square in Soweto while collecting their grants on Thursday.
The shopping centre served breakfast sandwiches, fruit and hot tea to help elderly residents stay warm and comfortable while they waited.
Pick n Pay also partnered with the initiative by providing additional sandwiches and refreshments to support the community.

Small business owners, government representatives and industry partners gathered in Gqeberha on Tuesday for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Summit hosted by the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

The Lighthouse Community Centre in Springs will host its third annual career expo from 9 to 11 July, giving young people the opportunity to explore study and career options.
The three day event will include CV writing workshops, mock interviews, career guidance, keynote talks from professionals and exhibitions by higher education institutions and companies.
The final day will also be open to the wider community, giving more people access to career advice and employment information.
