Over the past 18 months, Friends of Linden Library has raised thousands of rands through book sales to buy new books, support children's holiday programmes, maintain the gardens and protect the library's collection.
The group is also encouraging more residents to visit the library and donate books to help grow its resources.
By giving their time and skills, the volunteers are helping preserve an important community space and inspire a love of reading.
