Fourways community come together around broken bicycle

A community in Fourways helped fix a bike, sparking generosity and connection.
A Fourways resident, Rene Theron, posted on the “I Love Fourways” Facebook group asking for help repairing her gardener Daniel Silomo’s bicycle.
Community members responded with advice and offers, and the cycling community quickly mobilised to assist.
Cycle Lab took the bike, repaired it, and returned it in near-new condition, ensuring Daniel could use it for his daily commute.
Cycle Lab's Daniel Edges says the team was inspired by Rene's desire to help her gardener and wanted to pay it forward, adding that the team wanted to help people ride safer and better.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has confirmed that the focus now shifts to qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
