Bryanston Sports Club hosted its annual kiddies Christmas party on December 6, welcoming children from Kids Haven, a care organisation supporting vulnerable and orphaned children, as well as the club community.
The morning was filled with fun, food, and festive generosity, including a jumping castle, an ice cream van, hearty meals, and Father Christmas handing out gifts.
Club members contributed extra presents to make the day extra special. Organisers say the event reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the community and supporting Kids Haven’s work in providing care, love, and opportunities to children in need

The Castle of Good Hope has officially opened the Blue Era Permanent Exhibition, celebrating the life and legacy of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. The exhibition features 12 paintings and commemorates Mandela’s passing in 2013.
Created and sponsored by artist Dr Willa Boezak, the collection highlights Mandela’s lifelong struggle for justice, unity, and ethical leadership.
The display is part of the Castle’s transformation into a space reflecting all South African heritages.
Officials say the exhibition offers a moment of reflection and tribute, ensuring Mandela’s message of peace, equality, and nation building continues to inspire future generations

A former canine officer in Maryland, USA, has turned a calling into action by creating a mobile laundromat for the city’s homeless community.
Wade Milyard was inspired after hearing a voice urge him to help people with their laundry while responding to a domestic dispute at a homeless camp.
Since retiring, he has been driving his converted bus around the city, providing free laundry services to residents who previously washed clothes in nearby creeks.
His initiative has washed over 2,000 pounds of laundry in recent weeks, offering not only clean clothes but also a sense of dignity and pride to those he serves.
Milyard plans to add a second vehicle to double the number of people he can help, continuing his mission to make a practical difference in the lives of the unhoused.
