Ekurhuleni's 56 vehicle fleet to boost service delivery
The Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni, Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has unveiled 56 new vehicles for various municipal departments at the Primrose Fleet Workshop.

The Mayor encouraged municipal employees to continue working hard and to take pride in transforming the lives of the city’s residents.

The investment forms part of the city’s Fixing the Frontline programme, which aims to strengthen frontline service delivery by equipping operational teams with the tools they need to respond more effectively to residents’ needs.

The city of Cape Town has been ranked among the world's most beautiful places to stay.

A global study has ranked the Mother City as the eighth most beautiful destination for design-led accommodation, making it the highest-ranked destination in Africa.

The research analysed luxury accommodation listings across more than 200 international tourist destinations.

Bali claimed the number one spot, followed by Paris and California's Yucca Valley.

Cape Town has joined some of the world's most sought-after travel destinations in the top ten including London, Cabos and Hawaii.

South Africa wins double bronze at NFL Flag Championship
South Africa has earned two bronze medals at the NFL Flag Africa Continental Championship in Nairobi.

The men's and Under-13 teams both secured third place after competing against Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt, while the women's team made history as South Africa's first national women's flag football side to compete at the continental championship.

The tournament highlighted the rapid growth of flag football across Africa ahead of its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.

Study reveals building blocks of birdsong
Scientists in France have uncovered the building blocks behind the incredible diversity of birdsong, one of nature's most complex forms of sound-based communication.

After studying more than 100-thousand songs from 3-thousand species, researchers discovered that the variety of birdsong is built from just eight basic sound patterns known as 'motifs'.

Each song is made up of combinations of motifs which include three types of trill, three types of whistle, chaotic notes and harmonies.

The findings stated that habitats such as forests and open landscapes influence the way in which birds communicate through song.
