Nova Pioneer Colour Run promotes wellness

Nova Pioneer hosted its Big Walk and Colour Run, on school fields across several campuses, bringing together learners, staff and families to promote wellness and strengthen community ties.
The day included activities such as a 3.6 km Big Walk, vibrant grade performances representing different countries and a lively paint splash to conclude the festivities.
Nova Pioneer Ruimsig's principal Carla Hercules, says the event reflected the school’s commitment to building a strong community where families, learners and staff can connect beyond the classroom.

Marule Twins celebrate historic rugby milestone

Uplands College in White River is celebrating a historic achievement after twin brothers Siphesihle and Thubelihle Marule represented the Pumas at this year's FNB Under-18 Craven Week in Gqeberha.
The twins, who joined the school in 2023 through the Kgwale Le Mollo Foundation, became Uplands' first Craven Week representatives in nearly two decades.
Thubelihle scored the Pumas' opening try of the tournament, while Siphesihle's outstanding performances earned him selection to the SA Schools A squad.
The college has congratulated the brothers on their achievements and has thanked the coaches, teachers, mentors, family members and teammates who have supported their development.

Sports Ministry announces R3 Million boost for national hockey teams

The Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, has approved three-million-rand in funding for both the men’s and women’s national hockey teams to cover their participation in next month’s World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
In an open letter, the women’s national team player Onthatile Zulu revealed players were expected to contribute towards flights and cover costs, including accommodation, meals, and medical expenses.
McKenzie says representing the country is a national honour and says the funding is a necessary measure to ensure reigning African champions do not have to carry the financial burden in order to represent their country.
