Chinese Association launches community sports facility

The Chinese Association has officially launched a new multi-purpose sports facility at Rivonia Central.
The project has transformed an unused rooftop parking area into a modern facility for basketball, netball and volleyball.
The opening brought together players, families and community members for a day of sporting activities, including a three-on-three basketball tournament and exhibition matches.
The Association's chairperson Daniel Lee says the project was inspired by the Chinese community's passion for basketball and aims to create a space where people can connect through sport.

Tsakane Winter Games celebrate youth sport

The Tsakane Community Games Winter Championships recently concluded after weeks of exciting soccer and netball competition featuring young players from across the community.
The tournament which started on the 4th of July has been ongoing during the school holidays with games taking place at the Tsakane Stadium, the Phela Ndaba Ground and Letsie Primary School sports grounds.
The tournament featured soccer and netball competitions across multiple age groups, with U11, U13, U15 and U17 soccer divisions, as well as U13, U15 and senior netball competitions.
Tournament organiser, Thuso Mtsweni, says the purpose of the tournament was to create an environment where young athletes can explore and express their talent and to take children off the streets during the school holidays.
The teams received medals and cups in recognition of their dedication and hard work.
