With support from Heineken Beverages, both have improved security, compliance and service, attracting more customers and creating jobs.
The project has helped upgrade over 240 taverns nationwide, boosting local economies and building stronger communities.

Conservation group Vulpro is celebrating a major milestone after 23 vulture chicks hatched at its breeding centre at Shamwari Private Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape.
The births come a year after South Africa’s largest vulture relocation, which saw 160 birds moved over 1,000 kilometres from Hartbeespoort.
The chicks include 20 Cape vultures and three white-backed vultures, with more expected this season.
All will be released into their original home provinces.
The project aims to help reverse Africa’s steep vulture decline while giving injured, non-releasable birds a vital role in saving their species.

A quick-thinking passerby and a pit bull are credited with saving two lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States.
Gary Thynes was at a park when the leashed dog appeared without an owner and drew him toward a secluded area.
There, Thynes discovered a man and woman lying unresponsive and alerted emergency services, who transported both to hospital.
Thynes, who is 16 months in recovery from heroin addiction, is fostering the dog while its owners recover, describing the animal as persistent and instrumental in the rescue. Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the pair’s condition.
