Pat on Brands hosts Business to Brand Summit

The Business to Brand Summit, hosted by Pat on Brands, convened a number of marketers, entrepreneurs, communicators and business leaders at The Capital on the Park in Sandton on the 1st of August.

The summit was a call to action, urging businesses to move from transactional operations to building purpose-led, high-impact brands that can thrive in a connected and competitive world.
Speakers, many of whom volunteered their time, included branding experts, marketing executives from top local and global brands, and successful entrepreneurs who have built iconic African companies.

Pat on Brands founder Pat Mahlangu says, according to the latest Brand Africa study, only 11% of the most admired brands in Africa are actually made on the continent.

InteliGro and NWU Business School partner to train Crop Advisors

A new partnership between InteliGro and the North-West University Business School aims to equip crop advisors with formal business training to support their evolving role in agriculture.

The tailored three-year training programme launched in May 2025 with a pilot group of ten young advisors.

The training combines theory and on-farm application, covering topics such as operational management, strategic entrepreneurship, financial resource management, effective communication and future readiness.

Participants who complete the programme will earn a formal qualification through NWU.

Thabo Maibi has created the Career Agent, a mobile app that scans job websites, matches openings with a user’s CV and applies on their behalf.

The app currently draws from a curated list of job portals in South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini, with some remote opportunities from abroad.

Maibi says he is working to make the platform freely accessible.
