Organiser and founder of AfriCAN Child Your Time is Now, Anthea Thyssen-Ambursley, says the event has become a vibrant platform for writers across Africa to celebrate, network, and build bridges across nations.

A new partnership between InteliGro and the North-West University Business School aims to equip crop advisors with formal business training to support their evolving role in agriculture.

The tailored three-year training programme launched in May 2025 with a pilot group of ten young advisors.

The training combines theory and on-farm application, covering topics such as operational management, strategic entrepreneurship, financial resource management, effective communication, and future readiness.

Participants who complete the programme will earn a formal qualification through NWU.

Qatar Airways expands its winter schedule

Qatar Airways has announced a significant expansion of its winter schedule, increasing flights to more than 15 international destinations.

The enhanced schedule includes a notable boost in service to Africa, with 35 weekly flights planned across key cities on the continent.

The airline will also launch flights from Melbourne to Doha in partnership with Virgin Australia, increasing service to three daily flights.

Qatar Airways chief commercial officer Thierry Antinori says the airline is consistently witnessing a steady rise in demand for its 5-star services to some of the most prominent destinations in the world.
