South Africa receives first batch of Lenacapavir

South Africa has taken a major step in HIV prevention after receiving its first two shipments of lenacapavir from Ireland.
The twice-yearly injection, designed to prevent HIV transmission in people at risk, has now arrived at OR Tambo, with just under 38 thousand doses in the first consignment.
The Health Department says quality checks will now follow before the rollout begins at 350 health facilities nationwide, with the launch now expected in mid to late May.

Gingirikani and Rixaka cooperatives now have solar-powered systems, irrigation, and a cold room to keep vegetables fresh, reducing waste and allowing farmers to reach bigger markets, including Johannesburg.
Over five hectares, local growers can now harvest over several days, sell more produce, and support their families.
Community volunteers also receive stipends, while surplus food is donated to vulnerable households, creating a wider impact
