Traxtion hosted its third annual Future of Rail is Woman event in Rosslyn, giving young women a closer look at career opportunities in South Africa’s rail industry.
High school learners took part in a Rail Fair, where they applied their STEM knowledge to real world rail challenges, with Amandasig Secondary School taking first place.
The programme also connected learners with women working in engineering, technology, logistics and other areas of the industry, while mentors helped them explore possible career paths.

A popular route in the Kruger National Park has reopened after a new culvert was completed on the road between Skukuza and Lower Sabie.
Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Minister David Maynier has handed the infrastructure over to SANParks.
The rebuilt culvert forms part of efforts to strengthen the park’s infrastructure and improve its resilience for the future.
Maynier says the restoration is important for keeping the park accessible and supporting tourism.

Emperors Palace launches ECD qualification programme

Emperors Palace has launched a programme to provide fully funded qualifications for 25 early childhood development practitioners from Katlehong, Thokoza and Vosloorus.
The practitioners will spend a year working towards an NQF Level 5 Higher Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education.
They will also receive study materials, mentoring and academic support.
The programme forms part of the Peermont Children’s Trust’s nearly five million rand commitment to improve early childhood development standards across Ekurhuleni.
