Young netball champions crowned

Die Afrikaanse Hoër Meisieskool Pretoria and Idlangamabela Secondary School from Mpumalanga have won the 2026 Kay Motsepe Schools Championship Under 15 Netball National Finals in Pretoria.
AHMP beat Helpmekaar College 17 to 16, while Idlangamabela defeated Jabulile Secondary School 17 to 15.
The competition aims to develop young netball talent and create opportunities for learners from both established and developing schools.
The finals brought together 36 schools from all nine provinces, with the winning schools receiving 400-thousand rand each towards legacy projects.
The AHMP captain says it was an honour to participate in the competition.

Run to raise funds for Khanyisa Educare Centre

Two Breadline Africa team members will run a combined 47.4 kilometres to raise 48-thousand rand for a new classroom at Khanyisa Educare Centre in Khayelitsha.
Jaco de Kock and Gail Davids will each run 23.7 kilometres in November, with the money helping provide more space for the 81 children at the centre, which currently has room for only 60.
The new classroom will also provide a safer and healthier environment for children to learn and play.

GO! Durban set to launch in December

GO! Durban is set to begin operating in December, after eThekwini Municipality reached an agreement with public transport operators on the rollout of the long awaited service.
The first route will run between Bridge City and Pinetown along the C3 Corridor, with the city set to procure 22 buses while operators provide feeder transport to connect more communities to the main service.
Contracts are expected to be signed in October, followed by testing and commissioning ahead of the December launch.
The remaining Phase One routes are expected to come into operation early next year.
