The Santa Shoebox Project has set a goal to provide 80,000 underprivileged children in South Africa and Namibia with personalized shoeboxes filled with essential items and treats.
Having already reached over 1.3 million children since its inception, the initiative continues to make a lasting impact in vulnerable communities.
This year's campaign, which kicked off on September 1, has seen a promising start with 29,000 pledges made so far.
Supporters have the option to pledge, pack, and drop off a shoebox or contribute to a virtual box, ensuring children start the new school year with dignity and the necessary tools to succeed.

MTN SA announces R200 million investment

MTN South Africa has announced a R200 million investment, to strengthen mobile network coverage and reliability across the Western Cape, as part of its ongoing national infrastructure implementation.
The operator says the investment will go towards building new base stations and upgrading more than 600 existing sites in the province.
The company reports that its LTE network currently covers over 98% of the Western Cape’s population, while its 5G network is expanding to additional communities.
