President Cyril Ramaphosa says Eskom's return to profit after 8 years shows that persistence and partnerships pay off.
The power utility reported a 16-billion-rand after-tax profit for the year ending March 2025, its first profit in 8-years.
The return to profit is largely due to a 12.74% tariff increase, debt relief, and a 14% reduction in primary energy costs
In his weekly newsletter, President Ramaphosa says Eskom’s improved financial position will enable it to invest in critical infrastructure and maintenance under its Generation Recovery Plan.
