Presenters Li Sihali and Liane Nieuwenhuys explained that being “bouncy” helps children understand resilience and the importance of bouncing back from challenges.
Teachers say the programme leaves a lasting positive impact, making mental health education fun and accessible.

Eastern Cape Teacher Ntombozuko Mkizwana Honoured at AU Awards

South African teacher Ntombozuko Mkizwana has won two African Union Teaching Awards in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The deputy principal at Nelson Mandela School of Science and Technology in Mthatha received the Continental Teaching Award and the Award for Excellence in Rural Teaching.
Her success follows being named South Africa’s Best Teacher in 2024 and highlights her work in rural education.
SADTU said her achievement reflects the dedication and professionalism of South African teachers working under challenging conditions.
The awards also coincide with the launch of the Continental Teacher Community of Practice, strengthening professional development across Africa.

Hand Made Africa Music partners with TMCW to develop emerging artists

Hand Made Africa Music has partnered with The Music Creatives Workshop in Mpumalanga to support emerging artists and strengthen Africa’s music industry. The collaboration provided training in strategy, branding, production, songwriting, and musical direction to equip artists with essential industry skills.
The partnership also included Studio Camp 2025, a two-day programme that offered practical workshops, networking opportunities, and career guidance. Participants produced a four-track EP and released Phuma Langa, celebrating cultural unity and regional sound.
The initiative reflects Hand Made Africa Music’s mission to create structure, opportunity, and global visibility for African artists while nurturing local talent.
