Ancient Jordan Site Sheds Light on Early Societies
Story 3
Archaeologists from the University of Copenhagen have uncovered ritual structures at Murayghat in Jordan, offering fresh insights into life more than 5,000 years ago.
The site, 120 miles from Aqaba, features standing stones, over 95 dolmens, and stone enclosures used for ceremonies rather than living.
Finds show early communities coming together for rituals and feasting, with shared pottery replacing personal items.
Project leader Susanne Kerner says Murayghat reveals how early societies adapted, collaborated, and created new ways to connect during times of change.
