The Douglasdale Community Policing Forum and SAPS members have joined forces in a clean-up initiative at the Douglasdale Police Station to create a cleaner and more welcoming environment.
Volunteers worked alongside police officers to clear litter, tidy outdoor spaces and refresh areas around the station.
The initiative also helped strengthen relationships between residents and police while promoting active citizenship in the community.

Durban school helps learners reach world quiz finals

Manor Gardens Primary School in Durban has raised funds to help four learners from Wynberg Girls’ Junior School travel to New Zealand for the Kids’ Lit Quiz World Championships.
The school hosted a World Book Day character dress-up event, with pupils and teachers arriving as famous book characters to support the fundraising effort.
Manor Gardens raised R5 000 for the Cape Town team after finishing second to them in this year’s South African finals.
The initiative highlighted the spirit of teamwork and support between schools united by a shared love of reading.

Two brothers from Redditch in Worcestershire have reached a major milestone after hitting their £1 million fundraising target for dementia research.
Jordan and Cian Adams, who carry a rare gene linked to frontotemporal dementia, are taking on a marathon challenge to raise awareness of the condition.
Jordan is running 33 marathons in 33 days, supported by his brother Cian, who is a physiotherapist.
The pair were inspired by their mother, who died at the age of 52 after developing the disease.
Jordan says the aim is to push forward awareness and support research before symptoms develop.
