Bedfordview teen Gianna Pascoal has been selected as one of only five drivers worldwide for the More Than Equal Driver Development Programme. This places her on a global pathway in Formula 4 racing. The 16-year-old is already competing in Formula 4 and is emerging as one of South Africa’s rising motorsport talents. Despite her success, she describes herself as a normal teenager who enjoys friends, family, and everyday hobbies.Gianna’s journey into racing did not begin in a karting school or motorsport academy. In fact, she was already a two-time South African champion in springboard diving before she ever sat in a racing kart.

More than 50 senior citizens have graduated from a skills development programme run by the Community Rise Uthando Help Center in Soweto.The three-month programme, in partnership with the City of Johannesburg, trained participants in sewing and detergent-making. It aimed to help them develop practical skills and earn an income.Organisers say the initiative supports active ageing, reduces social isolation, and keeps older residents engaged in their communities.

A Pretoria school has been recognised among 27 organisations worldwide by the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund for its commitment to inclusive education. Eduplex School was selected for its model that integrates children with hearing impairments into mainstream classrooms. This model is supported by advanced technology and on-site audiology services. Founded more than 30 years ago by Nico van der Merwe, Eduplex now serves over 820 learners and has become internationally recognised for its approach.
