Tshwane drafts Economic Revitalization Strategy

Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya addressed a gathering of local farmers at the Innovation Hub in Pretoria during a stakeholder engagement session with the agricultural sector on Tuesday.

Comrades Marathon to feature 2 seperate race starts

The Comrades Marathon Association has announced a change for the 2025 Comrades Marathon with the introduction of two race starts.
The innovative approach aims to enhance the race experience for all participants in the world’s biggest and most famous ultramarathon and ensure a smoother and more efficient event.
For the first time in the history of The Ultimate Human Race, there will be a separate start for each of the two groups of athletes in this year’s race, to accommodate the two starts, the race will feature staggered start times, in keeping with the increasing field of participants, year on year.
Comrades Marathon Association Chairperson Mqondisi Ngcobo, says the change reflects the commitment to improving the safety measures and the overall race experience for participants.

The City’s Film Permits Office says film crews have booked more than 59 000 beds in Cape Town, spending nearly R148 million from November 2023 to June 2024.
The productions are driving consistent demand for accommodation, food services, transport and office space, creating real economic value for local businesses.
The Permits Office says a total of 550 production shoots took place in the Cape Town CBD from the 1st of January to the 26th of May 2025, including commercials, documentaries and feature films.
