Pienaar Youth Unite to Tackle Unemployment
Teaser / Tailpiece story
Young people in Pienaar, outside Mbombela, have launched the area's first Economic Empowerment Indaba to help tackle youth unemployment and create new opportunities.
The gathering brought together government departments, private sector representatives and local organisations to connect young people with information on jobs, skills development, entrepreneurship and business support.
Organisers also used the platform to address challenges such as poverty, crime and substance abuse that affect the community.
Organiser Innocent Msibi says the initiative aims to become a regular event, giving more young people access to practical support and opportunities to enter the job market or start their own businesses.
