KnitWits provides warmth for the needy
Story 1
Volunteer movement, KnitWits 4 the Needy has just marked its 10-year milestone by distributing a new round of handmade blankets, scarves, and baby items to vulnerable families across Johannesburg.
Over the past few weeks, volunteers have delivered warm clothing to wastepickers, supported rural hospitals through the Baby Box programme.
As the new year begins, the group is preparing an Innovation and Creativity Blanket initiative for 2026 and continues to welcome new volunteers to its Saturday sessions at Rosebank Union Church.
The KnitWits say each newly delivered item strengthens their mission to bring comfort and community support where it’s needed most.
