Hanri Pretorius, a matriculant from Hoërskool Noordheuwel, recently represented the West Rand at the UIPM World Championships in Mossel Bay. She secured a silver medal capping off an exceptional season. Hanri has already earned her junior Protea colours twice and is also an elite track and field and cross-country athlete. Her outstanding achievements have earned her a full scholarship to Bradley University in Illinois, USA, where she will study Child Life Sciences this year.

KnitWits 4 the Needy has celebrated its 10-year milestone by distributing handmade blankets, scarves, and baby items to vulnerable families across Johannesburg. In recent weeks, volunteers have delivered warm clothing to wastepickers and supported rural hospitals through the Baby Box programme. The group is launching its Innovation and Creativity Blanket initiative and continues to welcome new volunteers to Saturday sessions at Rosebank Union Church.The KnitWits say each item they deliver helps advance their mission of bringing comfort and community support to those who need it most.
