Animal Rescue Centre Bunny Hop Haven expands rescue and education work
Story 1
Animal Rescue Centre- Bunny Hop Haven, in Observatory, Johannesburg, is expanding rescue and education work after a year of steady growth and increased community support.
The team upgraded its facilities, rehomed more than 40 rescued animals, and introduced more structured welfare lessons for visiting schools and preschools.
Volunteers and donors strengthened daily operations by providing supplies, assisting with adoptions, and helping care for a diverse group of animals.
Looking ahead, the haven is preparing weekly food-support partnerships, sponsored sterilisations, enclosure upgrades and a new community vegetable garden for 2026.
The Hop for Hope fundraiser will also launch in the coming months as the haven continues to grow as an accessible, community-driven sanctuary for animals in need.
