The 7th Unisa International Voice Competition took place at the ZK Matthews Great Hall in the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Building at Unisa, bringing together some of the finest vocal talents from around the world.

Hosted by the University of South Africa’s Music Foundation, the prestigious competition aims to celebrate excellence in classical voice performance.
and is judged by an esteemed panel of internationally acclaimed artists and industry professionals.

The Classical Voice Jury features renowned artists including, Eva Mei and Alberto Triola.

Johannesburg’s Market Theatre marks 50 years of cultural impact

Qatar Airways is reinforcing its commitment to the South African market with a significant increase in flight frequencies across its Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban gateways.

The move aims to boosts the airline’s weekly services to South Africa from 35 to 42 flights, creating more seamless connections to over 170 destinations worldwide.

Weekly flights between Johannesburg and Doha will increase from 18 to 21 from the 18th of February, while Cape Town services will rise from 12 to 14 weekly flights from the 17th of February, flights between Durban and Doha will increase from five to seven flight from the 5th of March.

Tree-planting initiative brings renewal to Khayelitsha Hospital

Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Willie Aucamp took part in a tree-planting project at the Khayelitsha Hospital in Cape Town as part of the global Mother’s Forest initiative.

The campaign focuses on restoring green spaces and promoting environmental stewardship, guided by the philosophy of a mother’s love to restore life and health to the planet.

The Minister says South Africa continues to make progress in environmental restoration, noting that the country surpassed its target last year by planting one million trees in a single day.
