Sandton SPCA Back on the Road

The Sandton SPCA has repaired two of its key inspector vehicles.
This enables the organization to respond quickly to animal emergencies across 176 suburbs. Constant breakdowns have hampered the SPCA’s work, but support from residents, local businesses and community leaders has now given them a crucial boost. Sandton SPCA general manager Stephen Maila says the recent repairs have arrived just in time and that Some of their vehicles are as old as 16 years and many were donated as second-hand.

Survé Philanthropies hosted a Women’s High Tea last week bringing together beneficiaries from three local shelters. Influential speakers marked 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children. The event, held at the Castle of Good Hope, was designed as a day of reflection, inspiration, and pampering for women from Ihata Shelter, Sisters Incorporated, and St Anne’s.The programme featured a series of talks from prominent women, each focusing on a different facet of the female experience.

NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is now fully assembled and ready to begin launch preparations this summer.The final integration of the telescope's major observatory components took place on Nov. 25 inside NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. According to NASA, Engineers brought together the spacecraft and telescope assemblies in the facility's largest clean room.
