Joburg EMS On High Alert For Fire And Weather Related Incidents

The South African Weather Service has warned that a cut-off-low is expected to result in cloudy and cold conditions over the central and eastern parts of the country between yesterday and today.
These weather conditions will be accompanied by isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers in Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga, North West and KwaZulu-Natal.
The weather service will continue to monitor any further developments relating to the weather systems and will issue further updates as required.
Meanwhile emergency services in Joburg says it remains on high alert monitoring all 7 regions for fire and weather related incidents.

The City of Johannesburg has launched the final phase of the Riverside View Social Housing Development adding 744 affordable rental units for low- and moderate-income families.
The City of Johannesburg's MMC for Human Settlements, Mlungisi Mabaso, officially launched Phase 4 of the Riverside View Social Housing Development last month.
The project aims to provide more affordable rental units for residents who don't qualify for RDP houses.
Mabaso stated that the city is pushing forward with this program to alleviate frustrations over high rentals and poor living conditions.
